Mana or en piste s2ep1

Mana (마법) is a blessing from the Creator to allow people to live an affluent life. But it is a double-edged sword and could either save someone's life or harm it. According to the Book of Creation it was the Tria who named the non-scientific energy that is used to materialize magic as "Mana".[1]

It exists in the bodys of gods like blood and it moves as the bearer's will.[2] Its use is based on one's instinct and if someone would make theories their habit when trying to use Mana, they may lose the instinct they have and thus become unable to use their Mana.[3]

The Creator's Authority

"Time", "Life", "Dimension Transcendence"* and "Mana" fall into the Creator's authority. This means, only the Creator is allowed to control and change those things.[4] Magic that tries to influence those things is prohibited and the majority of magics that are prohibited are such that challenge the Creator's authorities.[5] For example, it is illegal to create a living thing (e.g. turning paper into a bird). If someone would try it nonetheless, they would die.[6][7]

Even though Mana falls in the Creator's jurisdiction, there were attempts to create man-made Innate Mana.[8][9][10]

*Dimension Transcendence means getting out from the Gods' Realm and going to or interfering in the Human Realm, that is 0.8 seconds behind, or to the Underworld which is another 0.8 seconds behind the Gods' Realm.[4]

En Piste

Ten En Piste s2ep60 Trump Webtoon

Gods have an additional organ on the left side of their brain that humans don't have. This organ is called En Piste. Its significance for the gods' bodies is comparable to that of the heart, hence it's also referred to as the "2nd heart". It differs from other organs in that it has a will of its own; as if it is a sentient being. This organ is the source of Mana, it enables gods to use magic.

The En Piste has a protective function. If it senses danger due to an injury, it will form a protective layer around the damaged organ. This protection ceases, if the injured person loses consciousness, because fainting is an indicator that the En Piste has stopped working, so from that point on the person is in need for external help. Being a High-Risk Group Mana Possessor can be advantegous in such a situation, if the En Piste was stable and in a good condition prior to falling unconscious[11] because the En Piste of people with high Realization and Stability can use healing magic even if the person has fainted.[12] The inability to sustain a magic spell is usually a sign of instability and/or a bad condition.[11]

Like other organs, the En Piste can be affected by diseases, but it also has neurons that can be manipulated with surgery to treat some of the diseases.[13] Conducting research on the En Piste is hard[14] and treatment and manipulation possibilities are limited even if relevant knowledge is available, because the En Piste has a will of its own. With this it is the only internal organ that can commit suicide and medical intervention has the potential to trigger such an event.[15] Turning the En Piste dormant (e.g. with Blue Hibiscus) in an attempt to hinder it from killing itself, can have adverse effects to the brain, often resulting in partial memory loss, sometimes in loss of control over the body due to brain damage, and most of the time the suicide can still not be avoided.[16]

One of the incurable diseases is "En Piste Semele". It has a mortality rate of 97%. The Mana of people who suffer from En Piste Semele stagnates and eventually decays in En Piste.[17]

Another disease is "En Piste Confusion". An individual develops En Piste Confusion, if they are too stressed, and overstrain their En Piste.[7] For example, if someone uses disguise magic on a daily basis for several years straight, the En Piste will slowly lose strength and break down. It will try to send signals before collapsing, like magic spells losing their effects faster than usual, or fever, to tell the person they are in no state to use magic.[12] If the person ignores the signs and continues using magic, they will die, but if they stop, they will fully recover. Refraining from using magic is the only known way to cure this disease, it's either full recovery or death: the recovery rate is 52% and the fatality rate is 48%. Those who died used magic when they were not supposed to.[18]
In its core, En Piste Confusion is an allergic reaction to one's own Mana. The immune system is unable to tell apart friends from enemies and every time the ill person uses magic, the immune cells attack the En Piste. The consequences are more severe for people with high Realization and Stability.[7] Under normal circumstances high Realization increases recovery speed, because it enables the En Piste to use healing magic even when the person is unconscious, however, this mechanism becomes problematic if the release of Mana triggers an autoimmune reaction, as is the case for En Piste Confusion.[12] In such situations doctors prescribe medication that suppresses Mana. Since healing magic can't be used, recovery is as slow as that of Marhanians.[19]
Once Ran learned how En Piste Confusion works, he came up with an idea to treat it more efficiently: he used Blue Hibiscus to blind his immune system, making it unable to locate where his Mana is being released from and thus preventing it from attacking his En Piste.[19]

En piste - the organ s3ep99

The En Piste can be removed with a syringe[20] or injected, but both procedures usually have a lethal outcome. If someone survives the injection itself, there is still a risk that the En Piste will be rejected by the immune system.[16][21] There were several attempts to create man-made En Piste in the past.[9] People donated their En Piste (more or less voluntarely) for the research.[21][22] The aim was to create Innate Mana that is close in creativity to that of the Creator.[9] Out of the existing Innate Manas, Syniez, was deemed the closest, that's why Psychi wanted to study Melly,[10] and why Heath tried to create Syniez artificially.[23]
A less invasive way to research En Piste is to extract its (DNA) information from someone's hair. But in that case, it is not possible to use the En Piste's Realization abilities.[24]

In some instances, it is possible that the En Piste outlives the host (e.g. in case it was donated, but it is not limited to such instances). This happens, because the En Piste upholds the person's will even after life. If the person wished to leave a trace, the body of the deceased will keep after they died. The En Piste will wait for the one person who'll be left all alone at the host's death, the one whom the host didn't get to meet at their last moment; it will wait until it's found by that person. Then it would make a last appearance and the body would finally scatter away, leaving a "trace".
The host's wish can also be the opposite, they may have wished to not leave a trace at all. In this case, the En Piste would make their body disappear, not leaving any trace of existence, as if the host never lived.
"Annihilation" would get rid of it, regardless of the En Piste's will.[25]
There were two notable cases of the En Piste outliving their hosts:

  1. Around 400 years ago, a donated En Piste lived on in a jar after the host was declared brain dead.[21] The En Piste briefly increased its level of Mana every time someone approached it, even though it was assumed that something like this shouldn't be possible without a host. The levels went back to normal when the person left again.[22] This didn't happen (or wasn't noticeable) when someone immune to magic approached it. After a while, the donated En Piste crawled out of the jar and caused an explosion. It killed 19 people. This incident led to the discovery that the En Piste has a will of its own.[24][26] (Note: This may have been an act of revenge from the En Piste. It sounded as if the host didn't donate their En Piste voluntarely, and they died as a consequence of the donation, so the En Piste may have held a grudge against the researchers.)
  2. Senika's En Piste waited for Ran after Senika had died, so he could see her for a last time.[25]

Innate Mana

Innate Mana is one of two ways to use magic.

A god's Innate Mana is named after the thing that the En Piste can control the best.[27] Heredity or environment (people or surrounding area) determine which Innate Mana a god has.[28] However, there is one day that poses an exception to this rule: it occurs every 214 years on the Creator's birthday, October 10th. Babies born that day will be affected by "miracle" instead of heredity or environment. This is known as the "Miracle of Synodic Month"*.[15]

Innate Mana usually appears after the age of 14 years, but there are exceptions (e.g. Bizet and Ari). It can appear gradually or suddenly.[28] After Innate Mana first activates in children/teenagers it takes 2-3 years for it to fully stabilize. Until that happens, it can cause symptoms like nightly fever. It is dangerous to use one's Innate Mana when it is still unstable.[29] If a person decides to use their Innate Mana nonetheless, there's a high chance for side effects and they might lose something valuable.[30]

Innate Mana can be traced by other people within a radius of 1 km,[31] but there are some people who can remove traces of their own and/or other people's Mana, for example Psychi.[32] And if a subspace mage (e.g. Nine or Syniez) would kill someone in their subspace there would be no traces of anyone's Innate Mana in the victim's body either.[33]

While it is very common for gods to have an Innate Mana, it can happen that someone doesn't have it. Puishang, for example, didn't have an Innate Mana.

*Synodic Month refers to the average period of the moon's revolution with respect to the line joining the sun and earth (29.5th day 12h 44mm on average).[34]

Measuring Mana

Mana activation device s3ep53

Mana has a total of 11 grades, from 0 to 10.[35] The criteria to evaluate Mana are Absoluteness, Realization and Stability. A Mana Detector is used to measure them.[36] In addition, Realization and Absoluteness are measured with a Mana Activation Device in a shielded room. To measure Realization it is enough to simply hold the activation device, but for Absoluteness the one whose Mana is evaluated must break the device in their subspace and take out the ball. During the test, the person who is being assessed is connected to another person through a thread as a backup plan for a potential Mana explosion accident while measuring Absoluteness. The backup-person can control the testee's Mana, if need be.[37]

Even if a person's Mana rate indicates that they are unskilled at using Mana (i.e. can't use it at will), there may be certain triggers that can initiate their power, so that a sudden, dangerous outburst is still possible.[33]

Note:
During Hiasen's Mana assessement in the Denial arc it was mentioned that they would measure the "Potential" of his Mana, aside from his Absoluteness, Realization and Stability,[37] but Potential isn't mentioned anywhere else and it was not explained what exactly it is supposed to be. It also somewhat sounded, as if Potential would be the same as Absoluteness: first, the doctor concluded that Hiasen's Absoluteness is 9 because he is a Nine, however this can't be correct because Certa's Absoluteness is immeasurable even though he is also a Nine. Second, up to this point, it seemed like Absoluteness is a fixed value that can't be trained (unlike Realization), so it wouldn't make sense for it to have the "potential" to increase in the future. But if that is true, then what exact Potential were they trying to determine in the first place? Third, the doctor later[38] changed his conclusion about Hiasen's Absoluteness, saying, he couldn't get exact figures but it is between 8 and 9. So, it rather looks like he didn't know Hiasen's Absoluteness to begin with and the test's purpose was to measure the Absoluteness, not some "Potential".
Then again, Hiasen's Realization was first said to be 3,[37] but after the test it is corrected to be 6-7,[38] so that could mean, it has the "potential" to grow and 6-7 would be its limit (maybe?). In case of Realization that is plausible because it was clearly stated that it can be trained.

Absoluteness[]

This states how absolute Mana is.[2]

Absoluteness has a particular meaning for subspace mages. Generally speaking, each person has a subspace where only the person themself may enter. This space is usually one's own thoughts or dreams. But there are also some people who have the ability to realize their space, like "Syniez" who realize their dreams.[39] Or "Nine" Mana possessors who can invite/bring people/objects into their own space. Those people are called subspace mages. If their space has an Absoluteness of at least 10, the invitation to it cannot be turned down and the involved people must follow the rules of the "owner" of the space, because gods can only deny the Absoluteness up to 10. However, there are some exceptions: people whose Mana exceeds an Absoluteness of 10 and is immeasurable, i.e. those people with High-Risk Mana.[40] If not for facing a High-Risk Group Mana Possessor, Mana with an Absoluteness of 10 will only break, if its user dies or makes a mistake. Though, an Absoluteness 10 and higher is rare.[41]

Known people with Innate Mana with an Absoluteness that cannot be measured, are Kasin's "Air"[42], Certa's "Nine" and Hellfire. It is also implied that Funoire's "Nine" Melly's "Syniez" had an Absoluteness of at least 10.

However, the level of Absoluteness is not all that determines the strength of someone's magic, because Absoluteness is limited by Realization.[43]

Note:
It sounds like Absoluteness is comparable to the concept of "strength/power".

Realization[]

This refers to two things: on the one hand it states what a person's Mana "looks" like (it's referred to as being a particular type of "mage", like "Dream mage"),[5] and on the other hand it states how well Mana can be materialized or made into "reality".[2]

People can have identical Innate Mana but its Realization can still differ. Certa and Hiasen, for example, have both the Innate Mana "Nine", but Certa's shadow exists wherever he is, while Hiasen needs to be asleep to create a space.[5]

If one's level of Realization is weak, it can happen that one oneself can barely notice that one's power even exists.[4] Hiasen is known for his weak Realization. That's what makes it hard for him to use his Mana in any way, be it to inject it into a Magic Circle or to activate his Innate Mana.[4]

Realization can also "limit" a person's Absoluteness. The Absoluteness can only be used up to the level of Realization and if the level of Realization is lower than the level of Absoluteness, Mana cannot be used to its full power.*[43] Two examples:

  • Crato is a magic with an Absoluteness of 10 and thus can usually not be broken. However, when Hiasen casts Crato, it is rather easy to break. With his poor Realization, he can't make his Crato reach that Absoluteness of 10.[43]
  • Hellfire's Absoluteness is immeasurable, but her Realization is only 7, which means she can actually only use her Mana at an Absoluteness of 7. That's why Ten was able to shield himself from her attack by getting a 9 with his dice. (The dice determine his Absoluteness and Realization.)[43]

Mana ball s3ep35

High Realization levels are advantageous in case of illness or injury, because they enable the En Piste to use healing magic even when the person is unconscious and thus speed up recovery.[12] Realization skills can be trained, no matter what Innate Mana a person has. The best way to train one's Realization is by playing Mana Ball. The game is played like tennis with rackets and a ball. To start the game, one of the players "charges" the ball with their Mana's Realization level. They hold the ball for 20 seconds and it takes up the level on its own. The racket amplies the ball's power and the holder's Realization grows stronger. If someone doesn't manage to swing at the ball, they take the blow as much as the power of Realization, hence it is not allowed to play Mana Ball if one has immeasurable Realization levels, like the Captain.[44]

It is said that circumstances that render one unable to use magic are fear-inducing for people with high Realization.[7]

It is also implied that Realization level for one's Innate Mana can differ from one's Realization level when it comes to using other magic.[12]

Ran has a high level of Realization. Certa' and Bahn's Realization is immeasurable.

Note:
Maybe, if you think of Absoluteness as "theoretical knowledge", then Realization would be something like the "ability to put theoretical knowledge into practice."

Stability[]

This states how stable Mana is.[2] To measure an individual's Stability it is necessary that their Realization level is higher than 3, otherwise Stability can not be determined.[37] Just like high Realization levels, high Stability is beneficial when recovering from an illness or injury, as it supports the En Piste in using healing magic.[12] It is also implied that the Stability level for one's Innate Mana can differ from one's Stability level when it comes to using other magic.[12]

"Shadow" is more stable than "Dream". It is because Shadow magic can be used on everything that has a shadow and most things have one. To use Dream, on the other hand, there are several conditions that must be met:

  • The Mana possessor must be asleep.
  • They must be able to have lucid dreams, i.e. dreams in which they are aware that they are dreaming.
  • They must learn to control their lucid dreams.
  • They must be able to distinguish between dream and reality.[45]

Ran has a high level of Stability. Certa's and Bahn's Stability are immeasurable. On the contrary, the Stability levels of Hiasen, Hellfire and Senika are very low. The same is probably true for Ten. It has not been confirmed, but from the way his Absoluteness and Realization work one can conclude that his Stability must be 0 (or "random") and that it is determined by the value of his dice.

Note:
Maybe one could think of Stability as something like "usability", "controllability" and/or "ability to use magic at will". With this, Hiasen's level of 2 indicates that he is not skilled in having lucid dreams and Hellfire's level 0 explains, why her Innate Mana keeps oozing out of her body uncontrollably.

High-Risk Mana[]

If one or more of the three criteria to measure Mana cannot be estimated because it gets higher than 10, or if someone was born possessing a Mana with an average rate of at least 7, they fall in the High-Risk Group Mana Possessors category. The Mana of those people is dangerous because it could be abused without being noticed[42][33] and in some cases, even the bearers can't estimate just how much damage their Mana can cause.[2][37] Strong Mana is even hard for the holder to control.[44] Due to the risk of such Innate Mana, High-Risk Group Mana Possessors are either severed or isolated from society, or executed.[39] This law concerning High-Risk Group Mana Possessors was introduced by the Tria.[1]

High-Risk Group Mana Possessors are said to be banned from dating[46][31] and having (adoptive) children.[47][37] Probably, because Innate Mana is hereditary (and/or influenced by environment and thus even able to influence adopted children)[48] and their Mana is too dangerous to be passed on to the next generation. This would make Hiasen into an illegal child. Though, Certa's statement about the dating ban is somewhat questionable because Ran and Senika were openly married. It may be true, if the ban is limited to Nines in particular (so that their Annihilation ability would only be in the hands of the Tessera). However, given his remark that followed said statement, i.e. "I'm [just] not taken with anyone,"[31] he might have bluffed and just used it as an excuse, so that people wouldn't annoy him asking him out on dates. This makes more sense than the ban because he is clearly rumored to have had an ex-girlfriend.[31] Then again, Certa is not the only one saying that High-Risk Group Mana Possessors are not allowed to date. Dohwadam says it, too, and adds that it would be illegal to have feelings for someone who has immeasurable Mana like Kasin.[46]

Note:
It is not stated directly in the explanation about High-Risk Group Mana, but it is heavily implied that (probably all types of) subspace mages fall into this category because they can commit crimes in their subspacee without leaving any trace.[33] Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense for Hiasen to be in this category, because his values are neither immeasurable, nor have an average of at least 7. Another not directly mentioned criterium is the ability to override things that fall in the Creator's jurisdiction, as is the case for Syniez, even if they don't have high Mana levels and aren't subspace mages (e.g. Melly).

Known High-Risk Group Mana Possessors are:

  • Melly, because her "Syniez" had the power to change things that only the Creator is allowed to change.
  • Kasin, because the Absoluteness of his "Air" cannot be measured and it might have unknown consequences to him and his surroundings.[42]
  • Hiasen, because his "Nine" creates a space where he can commit all possible crimes without anyone noticing.[4]
  • Certa, because he's a subspace mage with his "Nine"[4] and his Mana Rate is immeasurable. His Arche type Shadow can also affect others and himself in a problematic way.[37] (Though, the Book of Old Tales says Certa was born to keep world order, so his Mana is not comparable to High-Risk Mana.)[44]
  • Ran, because his average Mana Rate is 9, his "Syniez" might affect things that only the Creator is allowed to change and because he is a subspace mage.
  • Senika, because her "Syniez" had the power to alter things that only the Creator is allowed to change and because she is a subspace mage.
  • Nori
  • Ten is under the special attention of the Mana Association because his maximal Absoluteness is 12 and thus potentially dangerous. But he is officially not a High-Risk Group Mana Possessor, due to the randomness of the Absoluteness of his "Rule".[49]
  • Hellfire, because her Absoluteness is immeasurable.
  • Bahn, because the Realization and Stability of his "Murder" are immeasurable.

The Three Categories of Mana

Mana is categorized in 3 ways: science, miracle and arche. An individual's Mana is mostly determined on how they rely on or resist category of Mana.[37]

Editor's Note[]

Going by the information provided in the Webtoon the 3 categories of Mana are rather vague concepts. Hence you will see some speculative content in the following section and here is why:

The categorization was only explained once[37] and then hardly ever mentioned again, leading to a rather ambigous definition. For example, it's not clear whether the categories are refering to Innate Mana (e.g. Nine, Syniez, Senov, Air) or the way Innate Mana is realized (e.g. Shadow, Dream, Weight and Air - again?). There are examples for both interpretations:

  • Sena's Innate Mana Senov is classified as "science". It is not Weight Control that makes her Mana a matter of "science".
  • Certa's Shadow is "arche" and Hiasen's Dream is "miracle", but their Innate Mana is Nine. So, in contrary to Sena's case, in this instance it's the Realization that is categorized, not the Innate Mana.
  • Kasin is a case of its own: his Innate Mana Air is "arche", but how is his Innate Mana actually realized...? Is he an "Air mage Air" Mana possessor just like Certa is a "Shadow mage Nine" Mana possessor? Aside from the uncertainty about Kasin's Mana, there is now a precedent of Innate Mana (Air) and Realization (Shadow) co-existing in the same "arche" category.

So, if Mana categories can be applied to both, Innate Mana and/or Realization, then one could conclude that an individual can have Mana of two different categories (e.g. what category is the Innate Mana "Nine"?). Furthermore, one could speculate (based on the definitions of the categories) which other types of Mana belong in what category, without them being officially confirmed in the Webtoon (e.g "Syniez" sounds like it would be "miracle").

In addition, it is implied that the En Piste looks different, depending on what Mana category a person has: see images below (though the illustrations are inconsistent). The picture at the top of this page symbolizes Senov, but there was no picture of a "science" category En Piste. The image of the organ in the En Piste section of this page appeared when Ran was talking about seeing Senika's En Piste. (It doesn't resemble the image of "miracle" En Piste below, though, and Melly's En Piste looks different, too.)

Science[]

Its usage requires certain configurations of spells based on figures or science.[37]

Senov (also referred to as "Sanov") is a science type of Innate Mana that can change the shape or quality of everything except those things controlled solely by the Creator. People who use Senov are called Senover. From color to shape and weight, a Senover's ability to change qualities depends on their En Piste.[50]

Discussion: Is Nine a "science" type of Mana? They use the Nine Formula to sync their subspace with reality and a formula is based on science. (But all subspace mages are said to do this, so some Syniez might also fall into this category?) And what about Ten's Rule? It is based on figures and the mathematical concept of randomness... Mick's Cutter and Yan's Disassemble also sound like candidates for the "science" category (or at least, they don't seem to fit the other two categories).

Known Science Mana Types

Miracle[]

Mana miracle en piste s3ep53

Occurs in transcending ways, apart from any spell or configuration.[37]

Speculation: Syniez is a miracle type of Mana. All kinds of Innate Mana that can materialize things by imagination or by drawing are called Syniez.[39] Things created in the Syniez' imagination are brought into reality (i.e. realized). It can realize everything, but the things controlled by the Creator. The first ever Syniez manifested in Melly.[4]

Known Miracle Mana Types

Arche[]

Mana arche en piste s3ep53

Arche means "source, origin, prior, first." Mana of this category, such as air, light, and darkness, directly affects life. Arche types are rare and, aside from a few exceptions, mostly High-Risk Group Mana Possessors with unfathomable Absoluteness. While strong, Arche Mana often comes with the side effect of not only harming the opponent, but also the bearer themself (this was confirmed for Kasin and Certa).[37] It can even be more harmful to the bearer than to the opponent, because the bearer is using the Arche Mana directly.[27]

Arche type Mana possessors are not allowed to adopt children (without the permission of the Head of Trump of Honor).[47]

Speculation: All types of elemental Mana fall into this category because they can influence life directly. For example, electricity is used by the nervous system as a means of communication between neurons; the human body consists up to 85% of water; living beings have some form of "in-built" thermoregulation and fire can affect it etc.

Magic Circles

Magic circle (vmobile) s2ep89 Trump Webtoon

Magic Circles are the only way to realize magic without using one's Innate Mana.[6] It is possible to inject Mana into a magic pattern, i.e. a Magic Circle, or one could "draw" it in one's head to use it instantly.[3]

To put Mana into a Magic Circle it is necessary to imagine that one is putting something down on the floor or another flat surface. It is like imagining that there is ink in one's brain that will come out if one draws a line with an actual pen.[52]

A Magic Circle is a "formula" for using different kinds of magic conveniently. "Formula" is what the Creator called the integration of science and miracle.[6] Such a formula can be abused or be created illegally, but people who would try to do that would fail or get caught.[5]

Having a good memory has several advantages when it comes to using Magic Circles:

  1. A person with a good memory remembers magic formulas even if they are complex.[3]
  2. A good memory enables a person to use magic without delay, which means one can work magic just by thinking. There is no extra step involved, like drawing a circle on paper or activating one's En Piste/Innate Mana.[6] If someone has an eidetic memory, they might even be able to realize magic unconsciously/intuitively. This means, they could use a particular magic formula, just because they have observed someone work such magic in the past. There isn't even a need for them to know how they make the magic formula work, which means they might use it accidentally.[3]
  3. Magic takes the form of what one imagines/remembers, so the more a person knows, the more options they have to realize their magic. "So, gods must study science diligently and desire for miracles." (Certa)[6]

Examples for Magic Circles/Formulas:

Crato[]

Hiasen using Crato s3ep21

Crato is restriction/confinement magic. It has a lot of use cases in Yeohadan equipment. See here for more information.

Circulative Reflex Magic[]

Mana circulative reflex magic s1ep29

Curculative Reflex magic is usually used in battles. It's magic that reflects the opponent's Mana by rotating it in a circle and redirecting it back at the person. As long as it's not attack Mana the person doesn't take any damage by receiving their own Mana. Ran tried to develope an immunotherapy for Kasin's Mana with the help of Farty based on Circulative Reflex Magic.[53]

Iiet' Search[]

Ran using iiet search s3ep8

Iiet' Search is magic that locates desired information. Ran uses it to search Psychi's computer for keywords on the experiment of That Miracle of Synodic Month.[54]

Teleportation[]

MrPenguin using teleportation s3ep11 Trump Webtoon

Teleportation is a spell to conveniently travel between places. But there are also trains[55][56] for those who can't use teleportation, or for instances where teleportation is prohibited due to safety concerns (e.g. during the Sacred Assembly of Tessera).

Teleportation is set to the height of the caster, this means the teleported person will appear at that height. Hence, if the teleported person is shorter than the caster, they may fall down when they appear at the destination.[57]

The Nine Formula[]

Nine formula s4ep43

The Nine Formula is a type of magic that is used by subspace mages, like Nines and Syniez, to synchronize the changes made in their subspace with reality. See here for more information.

Magic Circles Going Wrong[]

Magic circles gone wrong because MrPenguin lost concentration s2ep21

If someone loses focus while using a magic circle, the magic will not have the effect it was supposed to, and can take on a rather funny shape.[58]
